The doubling is concentrated on the reverse legend, where the letters show a secondary image offset from the primary lettering — the "medium" classification indicates the spread is visible without extreme magnification but is not as dramatic as the "strong" doubled dies that make headlines. Stage A shows early die state unconfirmed, Stage B shows middle die state unconfirmed, and Stage C shows both reverse and obverse in late die state, meaning only late-state specimens have been positively identified so far. As DDR-005, this is the fifth documented doubled die reverse for the 1960 date.
