1960 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-017

Description

Sharing the prestigious Cherrypickers' Guide listing FS-01-1960-801 with its Small Date proof sibling, WDDR-017 on the 1960 Lincoln Memorial Cent Proof Large Date carries the same strong Class II spread towards the center that makes this the flagship DDR variety of the 1960 proof series. The doubling is prominently visible on the right Memorial base, right cornice, and right side of the roof, with strong displacement also showing on the letters of ONE CENT. A lesser centerward spread affects USA, the left base, the left cornice, the left side of the roof, and the designer's initials. Tripling is observable on some letters, particularly the CA in AMERICA, indicating that the die received at least three hub impressions with measurable misalignment.
