Description

Among the most complexly documented repunched mintmark varieties on the 1959-D Lincoln Memorial cent, RPM-007 is tracked by VarietyVista across three reverse die pairings — UVC-617/DMR-012, UVC-618/DMR-013, and UVC-619/DMR-014 — spanning six die stages. Stage A is an unconfirmed early die state. Stage B finds the obverse at mid die state with a depression at the right eave and a small die chip on the right cornice. After the first reverse die change, Stage C introduces numerous fine northeast die scratches on the obverse, while the reverse shows depressions under the right crossbar of T in CENT and the center bar of E in CENT, plus a small die chip on the center bar of E in ONE. Stage D develops a die break under the center bar of E in CENT. Following a second reverse die change, Stage E pairs the obverse at late die state with a fresh reverse. By Stage F, the obverse reaches very late die state with a small die chip on column 12. The three reverse die pairings indicate this obverse die saw exceptionally long service, outlasting two reverse dies before its own retirement.
