Cataloged as DDR-003 with attribution codes UVC-1935 and DMR-007, this 1958 Lincoln cent carries special significance as a doubled die from the final year of the beloved Wheat reverse design, which was replaced by Frank Gasparro's Lincoln Memorial reverse beginning in 1959. The reverse displays light hub-doubling spread on E PLURIBUS UNUM and both wheat ears, with the doubling best observed on the left wheat ear. Stage B specimens show the reverse at mid-die state, while a strong die crack over the V.D.B. designer's initials confirms mid-die-state progression. Victor David Brenner's initials, absent from Lincoln cents between 1909 and 1917, were restored in small size on the reverse in 1918 and remained through the end of the Wheat design.
