1958-D Repunched Mintmark RPM-001

Description

Holding the primary catalog position for the 1958-D date, this VarietyVista-documented Roosevelt Silver Dime exhibits a D/D Rotated CCW repunched mintmark with the obverse also classified as ODV-006 (Straight G), creating a dual-variety coin. Die markers UVC-310 / DMR-003: Stage A with reverse at EDS and obverse at ODV-006 (Straight G) at MDS; Stage B at MDS (unconfirmed); Stage C with a die break on upper inside left leaf at LDS, die chip on eyebrow at LDS, small die chip on nostril, die cracks in hair, and die chip in field at edge of hair at K-1. The extensive Stage C deterioration across Roosevelt's portrait documents advanced structural failure. Designed by John R. Sinnock, struck in 90% silver and 10% copper at 2.50 grams and 17.91 mm, the 1958-D was one of the final years before silver was eliminated from dimes in 1965.
