Unlike standard doubled die varieties that affect a single working die, WMDO-001 documents doubling that originated on the 1955 master die itself — meaning every working die produced from that master, and consequently every 1955 Roosevelt Dime struck at Philadelphia, Denver, San Francisco, and in proof, carries the same doubled master die characteristics. A counterclockwise spread from a pivot point at approximately 3:00 manifests on LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and Roosevelt's lips. Because this is master die doubling, the obverse and reverse die markers will vary on each individual working die produced from the affected master, making traditional die-specific markers inapplicable for attribution. Cross-referenced as CONECA: MD-1-O-V, this variety is notable for its ubiquity — all 1955-dated Roosevelt Dimes possess this doubling, which makes the variety interesting from a manufacturing standpoint but essentially worthless as a premium variety since no 1955 dime lacks it.
