1955 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-007

Description

A proof-only Jefferson Nickel die variety from the last year of the original Philadelphia proof facility, this 1955 WDDR-007 exhibits Class II distorted hub doubling on E PLURIBUS UNUM. Class II doubling results from distortion within the hub itself rather than misalignment between hub and die, producing a spread pattern that differs visually from the lateral displacement of other doubling classes.
