The 1953-S Repunched Mintmark RPM-006 shows mintmark repunching evidence from the hand-punching process used to apply branch mint letters to working dies. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, Die markers: UVC-483 DMR-008 Stage A: Obverse is EDS Reverse is MDS Stage B: Obverse is MDS Reverse is LDS UVC-484 DMR-009 Stage C: Die crack from head to rim West of the W of WE – LMDS Light die cracks on forehead Reverse die changed – MDS Stage D: Obverse is LDS Die crack upper Left wheat to rim – LDS Stage E: Obverse is VLDS Die chip outside Left wheat gains – VLDS.
