1950-D Repunched Mintmark RPM-007

Description

With a D/D Northeast displacement, this 1950 Denver Mint Washington Quarter was documented by VarietyVista. Die markers UVC-0733 / DMR-013 track three stages: Stage A EDS (unconfirmed); Stage B MDS with a die gouge across the upper M of AMERICA and obverse MDS; Stage C LDS with the gouge worn away, a die crack across the bust, and a die crack across the eagle's wing. The progressive deterioration from B to C is notable — the diagnostic gouge erodes away while new cracks emerge across both faces. John Flanagan's design was struck in 90% silver and 10% copper at 6.25 grams and 24.3 mm. D/D Northeast. The dual die cracks at Stage C spanning both bust and wing indicate this die pair was pushed well into its late service life, producing coins that document both the RPM and advancing structural failure.
