1950-D Repunched Mintmark WRPM-033

Description

Cataloged by the Wexler Team as 1950-D 1-cent WRPM-033, this Lincoln Wheat Cent displays a D/D Tilted (Rotated) repunched mintmark. Obverse die markers include a small die gouge between the upper 5 and 0 in the date, plus an abraded die clash at the throat documenting an unprotected die contact event. The reverse shows a NE/SW die scratch above the left wheat ear. No external cross-references are known. Struck at Denver in 1950 in 95% copper and 5% tin and zinc, weighing 3.11 grams at 19.05 mm diameter, the 1950-D was the celebrated low-mintage date for Denver Wheat Cents with roughly 334.9 million struck, making die varieties from this date relatively scarcer than those from higher-production years.
