1950-D Repunched Mintmark RPM-007

Description

A D/D East variety documented by VarietyVista, this Denver Mint Lincoln Wheat Cent from 1950 exhibits both die clash evidence and structural cracking alongside the repunched mintmark. Die markers UVC-1109 / DMR-009: Stage A with a strong die scratch northeast from the forehead at EDS, reverse at EDS; Stage B with a strong double die clash at the throat and in front of the date at MDS, light die crack over V.D.B., and a light die crack from the lower right wheat to rim at MDS; Stage C with the die clash at the throat abraded away at MDS, reverse at MDS; Stage D at LDS (unconfirmed). The double die clash at Stage B leaving marks at Lincoln's throat and date area documents an event where the dies struck each other without a planchet between them. Struck in 95% copper and 5% tin-zinc at 3.11 grams and 19.05 mm.
