Description
The 1948 (D) Roosevelt Dime is a dime produced at the Denver Mint as part of the Roosevelt Silver Dimes 1946-1964 series. The U.S. Mint produced 52.8 million examples, making this ranked 2nd of 3 mint variants by mintage, with 32% of production. The obverse features Franklin D. Roosevelt facing left, honoring the president who championed the March of Dimes and the reverse displays a torch flanked by olive and oak branches, symbolizing liberty, peace, and strength. Minted during the post-war economic boom, the final era of silver circulating coinage in the United States before the Coinage Act of 1965.
