Cataloged by the Wexler Team as 1947-S 10-cent WDDR-002, this early Roosevelt Dime variety displays a close spread towards the rim on STATES across John R. Sinnock's reverse. The centrifugal direction — outward toward the rim — indicates the secondary hub impression displaced radially, pushing the ghost image of STATES toward the coin's edge. This outward displacement often appears on peripheral letters, where even small angular differences between hub impressions translate into measurable radial shift. A distinctive obverse die marker aids attribution: parallel die scratches run west-southwest to east-northeast through the BER of LIBERTY, creating fine linear impressions that fingerprint this specific working die. These directional scratches are independent of the reverse doubling and appear consistently across all die states. No significant reverse markers beyond the doubling have been documented.
