1945-S Repunched Mintmark RPM-010

Description

RPM-010 on the 1945-S Lincoln Wheat Cent shows the S mintmark over a previous S to the West (S/S West), with the mintmark style identified as MMS-004 Trumpet Tail — a recognized punch style in the VarietyVista classification system. Die markers are UVC-212 and DMR-013. Stage A shows a mixed die state: the obverse is in early die state while the reverse is in late die state. This combination is numismatically informative — obverse and reverse dies do not always age at equal rates, and differences in hardness, strike pressure, and surface contact can produce divergent wear between paired dies.
