Description
The 1945 (D) Philippine Ten Centavos D/D Allen-9.05a is a cent produced at the Denver Mint as part of the Philippines Ten Centavos 1903-1945 series. The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during World War II, when the Mint altered coin compositions to conserve strategic metals for the war effort. Struck at the Denver Mint, established in 1906 from an earlier assay office that processed Colorado gold rush metal. Auction record: $695 MS65 11-22-2021 eBay.
