Documented by VarietyVista, this 1945 Denver Wheat Cent features an unusual dual-UVC die marker history indicating a reverse die change during the obverse die's service life. First pairing UVC-190 / DMR-005: Stage A with obverse at EDS, reverse at LDS; Stage B at MDS (unconfirmed). After the reverse was replaced, second pairing UVC-2588 / DMR-029: Stage C with obverse at LDS, reverse die changed — LDS. The reverse die change confirms this obverse outlived its original partner and was re-paired with a fresh reverse that itself then wore to LDS. Struck at Denver in 1945, composed of 95% copper, 5% tin/zinc (3.11 g, 19.05 mm). This dual-UVC record provides insight into U.S. Mint die management during the wartime era, when dies were used until failure and frequently re-paired.
