Description

Cross-referenced as CONECA RPM #11 and Coppercoins 1942S-1MM-011, this San Francisco Wheat Cent is cataloged by the Wexler Team as 1942-S 1¢ WRPM-010. Die markers: Obverse: Die scratch through lower portion of S of TRUST. Reverse: Slanted die scratch above L of PLURIBUS; a wavy die scratch above RI of PLURIBUS. The wavy die scratch is distinctive because its undulating path suggests an irregularly moving tool or foreign object drawn across the die surface rather than a single straight-line contact. Struck at San Francisco in 1942, composed of 95% copper, 5% tin/zinc (3.11 g, 19.05 mm). The triple cross-referencing across Wexler, CONECA, and Coppercoins confirms broad independent recognition.
