Description

The 1942-D Washington Quarter DDR-005, tracked under die markers UVC-0265 and DMR-016, exhibits a light spread on AMERICA — reverse doubling focused on the nation name at the legend's right end. Three die stages are documented. Stage A is Early Die State, unconfirmed. Stage B is Middle Die State, unconfirmed. Stage C is Late Die State, confirmed by two die failures: a crack running east from the eagle's head to the adjacent wing, and a die crack crossing the bust on the obverse. These LDS cracks provide an authentication route beyond the reverse doubling for late-stage examples.
