1941-D Repunched Mintmark WRPM-010

Description

Tilted and rotated D/D repunching on WRPM-010 occurs on the 1941 Denver Lincoln Wheat Cent, distinguished from WRPM-012 and WRPM-013 by the primary mintmark's higher and further-west position. This positional differentiation between three related RPM varieties demonstrates the precision required in repunched mintmark attribution, where minute differences in the primary D's placement relative to Lincoln's bust separate otherwise similar-looking varieties. Obverse die markers include fine N/S die scratches in the field and a strong die scratch running north from the top of the head to the lower left of the E in WE. The reverse carries a light die scratch SSE from the left leg of the last A in AMERICA.
