1941-D Repunched Mintmark RPM-007

Description

Documented by VarietyVista with a D/D West displacement, this 1941-D Lincoln Wheat Cent also shares its reverse die with DDR-003, creating a dual-attribution variety. Die markers UVC-097 / DMR-008: Stage A at EDS (unconfirmed); Stage B at MDS (unconfirmed); Stage C with a die crack from the head to the rim between the W and E of WE at LDS, a die crack across the shoulder to the lapel, and reverse listed as DDR-003 at LDS. The die crack spanning from Lincoln's head to the rim between specific WE TRUST letters provides an easily visible LDS diagnostic. Composed of 95% copper and 5% tin-zinc at 3.11 grams and 19.05 mm, the 1941-D was struck at Denver before the United States entered World War II following the December 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.
