Description

The 1933 Indian Head Eagle is a Gold Eagle produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Indian Head Eagles 1907-1933 series. With a mintage of 312,500, this is a less common issue. The obverse features a Native American wearing a feathered war bonnet, facing left and the reverse displays a standing eagle with the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM and IN GOD WE TRUST. Final year of the Indian Head Eagle. Most of the mintage was melted following Executive Order 6102 prohibiting gold ownership. Estimated market value ranges from $363K to $484K depending on grade and condition. Struck in 90% gold, 10% copper, weighing 16.7 grams, 26.8 mm in diameter, with a raised stars edge. Cataloged as PCGS #8885.
