1930-D Repunched Mintmark RPM-001

Description

Holding the primary catalog position for the 1930-D date and documenting a reverse die change mid-production, this VarietyVista-recorded Lincoln Wheat Cent demonstrates how a single RPM obverse die could be paired with different reverses during its service life. Die markers span two pairings: UVC-027 / DMR-002 covering Stage A with obverse and reverse at EDS, Stage B with both at MDS, and Stage C with obverse at LDS and a die crack from upper right wheat to rim at LDS; then UVC-3318 / DMR-008 for Stage D with obverse at LDS and a freshly changed reverse at EDS. The reverse condition jumping from LDS back to EDS conclusively proves the reverse was replaced. Composed of 95% copper and 5% tin-zinc at 3.11 grams and 19.05 mm, struck at the Denver Mint during the early Depression when production volumes were declining.
