Documented by the Wexler Team with no known cross-references, this 1929 San Francisco Lincoln Wheat Cent WRPM-004 presents a multi-stage die with distinctive scratch patterns across both sides. Stage A exhibits an east-west die scratch inside the upper loop of the O in GOD accompanied by scratches above GOD, providing strong early die state diagnostics. Stage B retains the same features in weakened form as die wear progressively softened the raised scratch profiles. On the reverse, scratches cut through the M of AMERICA and the E of UNITED, with a particularly strong scratch running between the R and I of PLURIBUS — a linear mark spanning two letters of the motto.
