1921-S VAM-1B4a Thorn Head Die Gouges, Die State 6 Discovered by Brian Raines, September 2003 This coin is a Hit List 40 Morgan Vam. 1B4a IV 1 - D2a (Thorn Head Die Gouges, Die State 6) (189) Obverse IV 1 - Slightly polished version of die state 5 with weaker die gouges between IB and diagonal die gouge between NU and polishing lines evident around these gouges. No new gouges added or old ones removed. DPIS – In 1921 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position.
