Description
1921-S VAM-1AA1 Scribbling Die Scratches #19 1AA1 (revised) IV 1•D2a (Scribbling Die Scratches #19) (189) Obverse IV 1- Slight tripling on some left and right stars. Reverse D2a- Fine die scratches in various directions on over polished tail feathers around eagle’s right leg and between eagle’s left wing and body. Die Marker- Diagonal die scratch to right of wreath bow. Some specimens show die file lines at UNITED and AMERICA die cracks. DPIS – In 1921 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: This may be a later die stage than 1921-S VAM-1AA2 w/ polish down the clashing. Study of both coins required to make this determination.
