Description
Part of the Philippines Centavos 1903-1945 series, the 1915 (S) Philippine Centavo is a centavo coin from the San Francisco Mint. Total mintage reached 2.5 million. The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield, with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck.
