Description

The 1914 (S) Philippine Ten Centavos Allen-8.10a Short Crossbar, struck at the San Francisco Mint, is part of the Philippines Ten Centavos 1903-1945 collection. The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck. Coined at the San Francisco Mint, which transitioned from Gold Rush-era production to its modern role producing proof and collector issues. Auction record: $2,220 MS64 04-25-2021 Heritage Auctions.
