Description

The 1910 Indian Head Eagle was struck at the Philadelphia Mint as a Gold Eagle in the Indian Head Eagles 1907-1933 series. With a mintage of 318,500, this is a less common issue — the lowest mintage among 3 mint variants, representing only 9% of total production. The obverse features a Native American wearing a feathered war bonnet, facing left and the reverse displays a standing eagle with the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM and IN GOD WE TRUST. Four-mint production. The 1910-S is a common date for the series. Philadelphia's mint — the nation's first — has produced coins without interruption since its founding in 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $2.6K to $3.2K depending on grade and condition. Struck in 90% gold, 10% copper, weighing 16.7 grams, 26.8 mm in diameter, with a raised stars edge. Cataloged as PCGS #8865.
