Description
Part of the Indian Head Eagles 1907-1933 series, the 1910 (D) Indian Head Eagle is a Gold Eagle from the Denver Mint. The U.S. Mint produced 2.4 million examples, making this the highest mintage among 3 variants, accounting for 68% of the year's production. The obverse features a Native American wearing a feathered war bonnet, facing left and the reverse displays a standing eagle with the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM and IN GOD WE TRUST. Four-mint production. The 1910-S is a common date for the series. Coined at Denver's facility, which transitioned from processing Colorado gold rush metal to full-scale coin production in 1906. Estimated market value ranges from $2.6K to $3.1K depending on grade and condition. Struck in 90% gold, 10% copper, weighing 16.7 grams, 26.8 mm in diameter, with a raised stars edge.
