The 1908 (S) Philippine Centavo is a cent produced at the San Francisco Mint as part of the Philippines Centavos 1903-1945 series. The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield, with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck.
