Description
The 1903 Philippine Ten Centavos is part of the Philippines Ten Centavos 1903-1945 series. The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck. Auction record: $460 MS66 09-07-2011 Heritage Auctions. Struck in nickel, weighing 3.6 grams, 24 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #90237.
