Description
1903-P VAM-8 Doubled UNITED STATES OF 8 III2 1 - C4c (Doubled UNITED STATES OF) (199) Obverse III2 1 - Light doubling on the inside of Liberty's ear on some specimens from die fatigue. Faint crack develops in field in front of Liberty's forehead. Die Marker - Small chip in the lower part of the upright of the R in LIBERTY. Reverse C4c - Slightly doubled inside of UNITED STATES OF towards rim and couple leaves at top of left wreath. Die Marker - Lines in wreath bow. Emission Sequence Obverse: 8, 21 Reverse: Comments: The exact same obverse die produced the 1903-P VAM-8 and the 1903-P VAM-21. Note- 3/14/2018 - a collar clashed at 12-1 o'clock example has been reported, but has yet to be sent for listing.
