Description
1902-P VAM-5 Doubled Profile Discovered by Leroy Van Allen, January 1979. Revised 2009. Die 2 discovered by Gary Redfeather (Keil), November 2011. 5(revised) III2 5 - C4a (Doubled Profile) (189) Obverse III2 5 - Liberty head profile doubled at forehead, nose, lips and chin. Slightly doubled top of Phrygian cap. Die 2 – Date at left edge of normal lateral position. Slightly doubled ear lobe. Phrygian cap top not doubled. Die marker – Single horizontal die scratch between wheat kernels below I in PLURIBUS. Reverse C4a - Very slight doubling and tripling of some letters in top legend. Die 2 – No doubling on legend letters. Die marker – Diagonal die gouge at right side of upper tail feathers. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Closed 9 and set in the normal lateral position.
