Description
1902-O VAM-15 Doubled Profile, 2-Olive Reverse Discovered by Jim Baxter, January 1979. Revised 2009, 2010. 15 (revised) III2 8 · C4/C3b (Doubled Profile, 2 Olive Reverse) (181) Obverse III2 8 – Doubled nose, lips, chin and neck on Liberty's profile.(Top of Phrygian Cap also doubled.) Short horizontal die gouges at top left of R and above I near denticles in PLURIBUS Reverse C4/C3b - Extra olive to right of olive connected to branch. Doubled tops of arrow feathers, olive leaves, olive branch to right of olives, eagle's right leg and middle talon, top arrow shaft and right of two innermost right wing feathers next to leg. Slightly double lower inside of GOD W-u. Die marker - Diagonal polishing line in wing-neck gap. Fine line on right inside of O mint mark. Vertical thread-like die impression or gouges at upper tail feathers and top of eagle's right leg. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Both 1902-O VAM-15 & 1902-O VAM-15A were produced with the exact same pair of dies.
