1900-O VAM-15 Doubled 00 & Stars, High O Shifted Left Discovered by Leroy Van Allen, January 1968. This coin is a Top 100 Morgan VAM. 15 III2 9 · C3m (Doubled 00 & Stars, High O Shifted Left) (189) Obverse III2 9– Doubled 00 in date. The first 0 doubled on the lower left inside and lower right outside. Second 0 doubled on lower left inside. First two stars on right doubled at bottom. Closed 9 variety. Date set further left than normal. Reverse C3- III O mint mark set high, upright and sifted slightly left. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: '''Comments: 1900-O VAM-15 Doubled Stars. This variety has extremely strong doubling of the stars to the right of the date. Several of the 1878 VAMs have strongly doubled stars like this but nothing else from 1879 onward comes close! This "VAM" is known with 0 clashes, 1 clash, 2 clashes or even three clashes. The two clashes are far and away the most common.
