1898-O VAM-12 Doubled 8 Discovered by Guy Messing, October 1975. 12 III2 7 · C3b (Doubled 8) (181) Obverse III2 7 – Second 8 doubled slightly at top outside of upper loop and strongly on bottom inside of upper loop as thick crescent. Die Markers - Horizontal scratch through upper cotton boll, scratches in LIBERTY. Die crack through lower loop of 2nd 8 to first right star in later die stages.
