Description
1895-S VAM-5 Doubled 9, S Tilted Right Discovered October 2009 by Terry Wallace 9 III 22 - C3b (Doubled 9, S Tilted Right ) (180) Obverse III 22- Same doubled 9 at top left inside of upper loop as for VAM 4. Later die state than VAM 4. Reverse C3b- Die 2 Medium IV S mint mark tilted to right and in middle of normal vertical position but slightly lower than VAM 2. Has heavy die polishing lines at left inside of lower loop. S mint mark set lower than VAM 4 S Over Horizontal S, not a polished VAM 4 C3d reverse die. Die marker- Heavy die scratch at top inside of wreath bow. DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Exact same obverse die used to produce 1895-S VAM-4, 1895-S VAM-5, 1895-S VAM-6 & 1895-S VAM-6A.
