1895-S VAM-1 Normal Die 1 III2 1 • C3c (Normal Die) (185) Obverse III2 1 - Normal die of III2 type. Reverse C3c - Polished down die with serif of horizontal S no longer visible at top left of the S mint mark. Die Markers - Series of die scratches through the eagle's right wing tip, lines in field at eagle's right shoulder going up and to the left. DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Given the absence of distinguishing features, attribution of VAM 1 is the conclusion that remains after a given coin is confirmed to NOT be VAM 1B, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 6A. The reverse is shared with 1895-S VAM-4, but has been polished down so the S/horizontal S is no longer visible.
