Description
Discovery December 2023, Brent Fogelberg 23 III2 15 • C3a (Scratches by Eye) (?) Obverse III2 15 - Date set at left edge of normal position. Several curved die scratches in front of Liberty's eye. ''Die Markers'' - Lines in ER of LIBERTY and between cotton bolls. Reverse C3a - Small die scratch above tip of eagle's right wing remains after die polished down. Late die stage of VAM 3 reverse. DPIS - LE3/RE4 ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: VAM-3, VAM-23, VAM-8 Comments: # 1887-S VAM-3, 1887-S VAM-8 & 1887-S VAM-23 were all produced using the exact same reverse die.
