1886-O VAM-29A O Set High, Clashed O Mint Mark Discovery 2012 Renumbered from VAM 8A, August 2025 29A III2 21 • C3j (O Set High, Clashed O Mint Mark) (181) Obverse III2 21 - Date in normal lateral position. Clashed die with partial incuse O of O mint mark from reverse showing as short curled line on right side of bent wheat grain stalk. Die markers - Short gouge in space above hair above 6. Fine polishing lines throughout LIBERTY, right inside of ear, hair. Reverse C3j - O mint mark set high and slightly to the right. Die markers - Marks in wing-neck gap with strong horizontal line across top of marks. Lines in wreath bow. DPIS - C3/B45 Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Renumbered from former VAM 8A. Two-sided clash indicates unclashed specimen may be available, which would be called VAM 29.
