Description
1885-P VAM-1M Discovered March 2013 by C. Logan McKechnie 1M III2 8- C3a (Clashed Obverse n) (?) Obverse III2 8--Clashed die with faint incuse n of In from reverse showing next to Liberty head neck. Die marker -- Fine vertical polishing lines in front of eye and on face. Comments: 1- This Listing may possibly be the 1885 VAM-1G without the Gouge by the Neck/One which the Discovery Coin did not have so a multi-coin submittal will be required for verification. 2- Vampicker - examined a VAM 1M in hand, he notes similar but not same dies as VAM 1G. Short horizontal gouge in hair behind lower ear of VAM 1G not present. ANSWER.. The Ear Plate on the 1G page is from the revision coin which has the gouge by the 1 which is not on the original 1G Discovery Coin. the Ear plate from the Revision coin matches that of the VAM-25. 2 LVA Plate Photo's: 352px align="left" 356px Fine vertical polishing lines in front of eye and on face: image:1885_VAM_1M_Photo_1.jpg Clashed die with faint incuse n of In on obverse: image:1885_VAM_1M_Photo_2.jpg 2 Sets Large Full Coin Copyrighted© VAM-1M Images on loan to VAMworld courtesy ©http://www.ha.com/ Heritage AuctionsATTRIBUTED BY Mhomei
