Description
1884-O VAM-19 Doubled 18, Very Far Date, High O Tilted Left Discovered by Jim Baxter, April 1975. Revised 2018 to add High O Tilted Left and three die markers; also replaced Reverse C3a with Reverse C3t, Rod Meader. 19 III2 7 - C3t (Doubled 18, Very Far Date, High O Tilted Left) (181) Obverse III2 7 - Doubled 18 with 1 top faintly as thin line starting at middle of upper curve to almost right side plus left 8 faintly at top left outside. Date set much further right than normal. Doubling on 18 disappears from die wear/polishing. Die markers- A few raised dots from rusted die pits back of Liberty head neck. Short gouge at top of middle wheat leaf between wheat grains. Reverse C3t - II O mint mark set a little high and tilted slightly to left. Die marker- Horizontal die polishing line or two at top left of eagle's left leg. DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: A previous 1884-O VAM-16A listing was made VAM-19A in 2006. In 2018, 1884-O VAM-19A and 1884-O VAM-32 Die 1 became 1884-O VAM-19. 1884-O VAM-19/1884-O VAM-19A (same exact die pair) appear to be unrelated 1884-O VAM-19B.
