Description
1884-O VAM-10 O/O Left, Far Date, Gouge Right Star Discovered by Walter Breen, February 1966. Revised 2006. This coin is a Hot 50 Morgan VAM. 10(revised) III2 4 • C3g (O/O Left, Far Date, Gouge Right Star) (181) Obverse III2 4 - Date set further right than normal. Reverse C3g– II O mint mark re-punched with original showing as a wavy vertical line within left side of opening. So-called O/CC variety. Early die states show broad polishing gouge below right star. It has been suggested that [[1884-O VAM-50 needs to be delisted at the next opportunity Leroy has to examine the two coins side-by-side.
