Description
Discovery March 2023, Ed Pope III2 16 • C3j (Doubled 18-3, Engraved Leaves) (?) Obverse III2 16 - 1 doubled strongly on surface on right side. First 8 doubled on surface on left inside of both loops. 3 doubled as a barb on the bottom inside. ''Die Marker'' - Scribbling scratches on jaw near hair, parallel diagonal scratches in lower left serif of R in LIBERTY. Reverse C3j - S mint mark centered and upright. Engraved leaves above N in ONE, with the edge of the leaf closest to the berries showing doubling. Small spike from a die chip from left edge of leaf near I in UNITED. ''Die Marker'' - Lines in wing-neck gap and wreath bow. Comments: # Possibly the same obverse die as VAM 12.
