1883-P VAM-17 Doubled 8-3, Die Scratch Neck and Chin Discovered by Ken Heacock, April 2001, Revised 2014, Brent Fogelberg. 17 (revised) III2 17 · C3a (Doubled 8-3) (189) Obverse III2 17 – Doubled 8-3 with left 8 slightly tripled at left inside of upper loop, bottom loop slightly doubled at left inside, 3 at bottom inside of lower loop and slightly doubled top of Phrygian cap. Very slightly doubled Liberty head profile from hair down to chin. Heavy vertical die scratch at jaw-neck junction and small curved die scratch at chin front.
