1883-P VAM-14 Doubled 18-3, Pitting Liberty Head Discovered by Martin Field, August 1980.Revised 2015 by Wayne Roberts, Revised/reinstated August 2018 by Weth 14 (revised) III2 14 ∙ C3a (Doubled 18-3, Pitting Liberty Head) (188) Obverse III2 14 – Doubled 18-3 with 1 at top right of vertical shaft , left 8 at left inside of both loops and 3 slightly at bottom right outside of lower loop. Die crack at top left of 1 to neck point with sharp bend in middle. Extensive pitting on Liberty's head. Reverse C3a – Light pitting on eagle. Die Marker: A couple diagonal polishing lines in wing-neck gap. DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Thread: Letter from LVA Note: The reverse has a small diagonal die gouge at inside of eagle's right leg.
