Description
1883/1. Repunching of the 1 shows south of the primary numeral. Die Markers: Obverse: Die crack from the first left-hand lower star, through the point of the bust and turning SE through the 1 in the date through the bottom of the date to the rim. Die crack through the 2nd through 4th stars. Die crack from the rim through the 6th and 7th stars. Die crack from the grain below the 7th star extends to a die crack connecting the 7th and 8th stars. Die crack from the 10th through 13th stars reaches the rim where the die crack through the date does. Reverse: No CENTS. Die crack NW from the E in EPU. Die crack extends NW from the rim through the P in PLURIBUS. Die crack extends NE from the rim between the S in PLURIBUS and the first U in UNUM to the right side of the wreath. Die cracks through the tops of UNITED STATES. Die cracks between UNITED and STATES reach the rim.
