1882-CC VAM-3C Doubled Date & Ear, Clashed Obverse n & s, Die Break Cap Discovery 2009 3C III2 3 · C3a (Doubled Date & Ear, Clashed Obverse n & s, Die Break Cap) (178) Obverse III2 3– Chip at top of Liberty's cap with die break through wheat leaves, with additional intersecting cracks in front of LIBERTY band on later die stages. Clashed 'n' and multiple wing edge clashes in front of Liberty's neck still visible. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comment: Previous die state is 1882-CC VAM-3B, next die state is 1882-CC VAM-3D 1882-CC VAM-3C has the same clashing as 1882-CC VAM-3B and clearly visible cracking with some displacement by the cap only. The quick and dirty difference between 1882-CC VAM-3C and 1882-CC VAM-3D is that the 1882-CC VAM-3B clashing has not been polished down on the 3C part of the progression.
