1881-S VAM-1C Die Chip in Leaves #2 Discovered by George Powell, April 2004. 1C III21 · C3a (Die Chip in Leaves #2) (187) I-2 R-6 Reverse C3a– Die chip on wreath leaves opposite I of UNITED. Higher than VAM-16. Comments: 1. More Photos of this variety 81-S V1C Hi- Res Photos 2. EDS stage show fully developed die chip, but the reverse is not over polished and no acid treated leaves 3. LFCP below is an LDS stage with acid treated leaves above N of ONE 4. Light pitting is present on the leaves of the first left wreath cluster in both stages.
