Description
1881-S VAM-19 Doubled Date, S/S Left Discovered by Maurice Dubreuil, December 1974. Revised 2012. 19 (revised) III2 10 - C3f (Doubled Date, S/S Left) (186) Obverse III2 10 - Double date with 1 at very top and on surface at bottom of upper crossbar, left 8 at very top and tripled at bottom outside of lower loop, right at lower left outside of upper loop and bottom outside of lower loop and right 1 at bottom of vertical shaft. Gouge at denticles above PLURIB. Reverse C3f - Mint mark is repunched with original showing as a spike at left of upper loop opening and an arc in the middle of lower loop opening. Loops are partially filled. Emission Sequence Obverse: 1881-S VAM-76 was last. Reverse: 1881-S VAM-19, 1881-S VAM-79 Comments: Exact same reverse die was used to produce 1881-S VAM-19 & 1881-S VAM-79.
